Along the banks of river Alakhnanda

Swami Dayanand was extremely eager to search a true yogi Guru. He heard there might be some in the Himalayas, he travelled extensively on foot in the valleys, reached Badri Nath Temple but could not find a person he was looking for.

He then walked along the river Alakhnanda and finding the way closed due to dense forest, he tried to cross the river. The river was full of sharp cornered stones and ice pieces. Any how he crossed the river but fell unconscious due to severe cold. When he gained consciousness, he again proceeded on journey. Though he could not find the true Guru but this shows his strong will-powera and great tolerance in most unfavourable situation, for the cause he upheld.
